Core Yin Yoga
Monday, 11:30 - 1:00 pm
A central focus of this class is strengthening and grounding
from the core to improve range of motion of the spine and overall
flexibility. This stability from the core along with the movement of
energy and breath in the inner body, brings a radiance andÊease of
movement to the outer body. The second part of the class will be in the
Yin style of long held passive poses optimizing the flow of the body's
natural life force energy (chi), bringing harmony to physical,
energetic and emotional imbalances. Yin Yoga cultivates meditative
awareness and calmness of mind. This class is a complementary class to
the Wed. Yin Yoga class at the same time.
Yin Yoga
Wednesday, 11:30 - 1:00 pm
Yin Yoga is rooted in blending the teachings from Chinese
medicine with the traditions of Yoga. A sequence of passive poses are
held in stillness for time which targets restoring flexibility and
prana flow to the meridian and organ systems, and bringing harmony to
physical, energetic and emotional imbalances. The Yin style of yoga
also integrates breath
awareness patterns and mindfulness practices while holding the poses to
enhance the effects of the pose and cultivate meditative awareness and
calmness of mind. The class will also include active yoga poses that
complement the Yin style, strengthening at the core and moving to get
Yang
energy flowing to balance both sides of our nature. The class will end
with a sitting meditation which arises with more ease after the
contemplative style of Yin Yoga. This is a level II class.
